Don Bosco, founder of the Salesian Society. Born of poor parents in a little cabin at Becchi, a hill-side hamlet near Castelnuovo, Piedmont, Italy, 16 August 1815; died 31 January 1888; declared Venerable by Pius X, 21 July 1907, a saint by Pius XI, in 1934. Pope John Paul II called him "Father and Teacher of Youth." Through heroic sacrifices and by dint of hard work he became a priest in 1841. As a priest, he dedicated himself to the service of boys, especially the poor by offering them food, lodging, and education. Through the help of generous persons, he opened technical schools, hostels, and other institutions. Soon he founded a society of collaborators and extended his work to all of the Europe and even to the other continents.

Don Bosco High School, Dibrugarh, is a Catholic and minority Educational Institution run by the Salesians of Don Bosco of DimapurProvince. It is a registered body under the Societies Registration Act 1860, and has its Regional Office at Don Bosco Provincial House, Dimapur, Nagaland. Don Bosco School, Dibrugarh was officially established on18th March 1960. The School is established for the advancement of learning inspired by Don Bosco, a great educator of youth. The Governing Body of the School is the apex decision-making body. The Managing Committee of the School of the sees to the ordinary running of the school.


About Us

The aim of this institution is to impart sound education by cultivating in the pupils habits of piety, virtue and discipline.
Education in Don Bosco School is based on the preventive system. The three areas of the preventive system are Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness. Reason aims at convincing the youth the need to follow ‘truth and good’ in accordance with their intellectual development, need and situation. Religion aims at instilling in the pupils believe in God and respect for what is godly.
Loving kindness is synonymous with ‘charity’ or ‘love’. It is ‘love’ that is expressed in words, deeds and even in looks and demeanour. Basically, the preventive system tries to avoid every occasion of evil by proper supervision and convinces the children need to do good and avoid evil through friendly persuasion.
